By repurposing an existing warehouse building adjacent to the Highline in New York City, I created a boutique hotel. Several program areas, such as a lobby/reception area, restaurant, restrooms, a gym, lounge, conference room, and business center were required to be located within the first two floors of the hotel.
My concept for this project was to interwind natural elements with man made developments. Throughout time, humans have covered nature up with their man made environments. However, in some cases nature has been found re-emerging from industrial developments. The Highline is a great example of nature peeking through the industrialization and development of New York City.
